Why do you work in the field of personal performance improvement?
I was employed in managerial, sales and training roles for many years in my career but I wanted to do something more than this. I decided to give up my employed life and to begin my Mindspan journey because I have a deep wish for people to make the most of themselves, their life and career…to spend life in fulfilling ways.
Who inspires you most in life and why?
Children and adults that face real life difficulty and challenge that triumph whilst never moaning about their conditions.
What three words would best describe you?
Positive, passionate, focused.
Where’s your favourite destination and why?
Too difficult to pick one place so because I love being in nature, special places for me are the beach for walking and relaxing and the mountains for skiing.
If you had a ‘super power’, what would it be and how would you use it?
I would be ‘confidence man’ so that I could travel the world handing out confidence to people to enable them to stop limiting themselves and reach their true potential.
Which book that you’ve read has had the most impact on you?
I have read many hundreds so again, picking one is not easy…so I’m cheating and mentioning the following few:
- Think and grow rich – Napolean Hill
- Psycho Cybernetics – Maxwell Maltz
- Learned Optimism – Martin Seligman
- I am right, you are wrong – Edward De Bono
What’s your guilty pleasure?
When the children come home (they are grown up and living in London and Saudi Arabia) I love when we settle down in the lounge on a cold winter’s night to watch a movie with wine and nibbles.
What one piece of advice have you learned from others that you would pass on to someone?
Live life with thought, passion and enthusiasm…make the most of your time!
