Creating Motivation For Yourself
In my experience most people acknowledge the huge importance of motivation in making positive changes to their lives or to their own potential for improved performance. However, I believe most people misunderstand the whole essence of motivation…
- Some people are waiting for SOMEONE ELSE to motivate them
- Some people think motivation is something that can be obtained from outside of themselves
- Many people are inadvertently creating feelings of de-motivation within themselves and don’t realise that THEY are doing it!
Putting it simply, motivation is a feeling, an emotion! Our emotions are created by us, by the varied ways that we think about ourselves, our lives and the world around us.
How often do you spend good quality time thinking about what you value most in your life?
How often do you spend good quality time thinking about what you really want in your life?
How often do you think about why you want these things and what you’ll gain by having them?
I believe that far too many people are wandering through life in some sort of hypnotic state doing the same things day after day, week after week and month after month. They’re strongly disengaged with what they’re doing but never thinking about whether these things are creating the life they want or not. I call this ‘going through life flat-lining’.
Once you are clear about what you want in your life and what you value most, then you are more likely to be motivated to start to spend your time working at creating these things. You’ll then be more engaged in and fulfilled by what you are doing.
Motivation is created within YOURSELF! Please start working at this for yourself, it’s an essential element to leading a fulfilling life.
